It depends on the surface, moisture, refrigeration and handling. Paper suits dry goods; clear and white vinyl are waterproof and oil-resistant for drinks, cosmetics and chilled products. Tell us how the product is stored and we recommend the stock.

Can you print barcodes and QR codes?

Yes. They can be built into labels and packaging. Supply the correct codes and always test-scan the proof before the full run.

Label Stocks, and Where Each Belongs

Gloss or matte paper: Dry goods, boxes and jars that stay dry; the lowest cost
Clear vinyl: The “no-label look” on glass and clear plastic, with white ink behind colours; waterproof and oil-resistant
White vinyl: Drinks, sauces, cosmetics and chilled products, squeezable bottles and curved containers; waterproof and oil-resistant
Kraft & metallic: Natural and artisan products; premium lines in silver or gold
Freezer & removable adhesives: Frozen products; temporary promotions and tamper-evident seals

Labels come on sheets for hand application or on rolls: standard 76 mm or 40 mm cores, wound in the direction your applicator needs. Send a photo of an old roll if you use a machine. For branding on glass or metal with no visible label edge, use UV DTF stickers — sometimes the best answer is both: a UV DTF logo on the front and a paper label for ingredients on the back.

We design with the production method in mind, so what looks good on screen also works in print.

Once the packaging is printed, we photograph it: white-background packshots for online shops and marketplaces, detail and angle shots, and styled lifestyle images, colour-checked against the real product and named by SKU so they drop straight into your catalogue.

Product Label or UV DTF: Which Should You Use?

Neither is better in every case. A traditional label suits larger information areas (ingredients, instructions, barcodes and batch details) and is the economical choice for thousands of units. A UV DTF sticker suits decorative branding with no visible label edge on glass, metal and rigid plastic. Many premium products use both: a UV DTF logo on the front and a printed information label on the back.

Designing a Label That Works on the Shelf

Measure the container, not the label you want. The flat area on a tapered jar is smaller than it looks.
Keep ingredients and contact details at about 6 pt or larger in a clear sans-serif.
Barcodes need a quiet margin and must print at 80–120% of nominal size; always test-scan the proof.
Leave a blank panel for batch numbers and dates if you stamp them later. For regulated products, confirm the Kenyan requirements for your category with KEBS.
