Method

Digital or Offset: How We Decide

Digital printing puts toner or ink straight onto paper with no plates, so short runs are economical, every copy can differ (numbered tickets, personalised letters) and jobs can be ready quickly. Offset printing transfers ink from plates; making plates takes time, but each extra copy is then very cheap, and spot Pantone colours match precisely.

Offset: cost per copy falls sharply from about 1,000 copies.

Materials

Paper and Finishing, in Plain Language

Paper weight is measured in grams per square metre (gsm): the higher the number, the thicker and stiffer it feels. Coated papers (gloss, silk, matte art) keep colours bright; uncoated papers feel natural and can be written on.

Choosing a business card: a plain 350 gsm matte card reads as professional and understated; soft-touch lamination feels premium in the hand; spot UV or foil on a logo draws the eye without adding clutter. Heavier 400 gsm board with rounded corners suits creative brands. If people will write on the back (appointment cards, loyalty stamps), skip the lamination on that side.

Finishing: matte, gloss or soft-touch lamination, spot UV, gold and silver foil, scoring and folding, stapling, perfect, spiral and wire-O binding, round corners, numbering and perforation. Learn more in how to prepare artwork for professional printing.

Files That Print Cleanly

  • Send a print-ready PDF with 3 mm bleed on every edge; keep text 5 mm inside the trim.
  • Images at 300 dpi at the printed size; colour mode CMYK; fonts embedded or outlined.
  • For booklets, send single pages in reading order and we impose them for the press.
  • Word, PowerPoint and Canva files can be printed: we convert them and send a PDF proof so you see exactly what will print.

FAQ

Questions Buyers Ask

Do I need a finished design?

No. You can send print-ready artwork, just a logo, or simply describe what you need. Where design work is required we tell you before production and include it in the quotation.

Which file formats do you accept?

Vector files are preferred: AI, PDF, EPS or SVG with text converted to outlines. High-resolution PSD, PNG or JPG at 300 dpi at the printed size can also work, depending on the job.

Can you print a logo I saved from WhatsApp?

Sometimes, but WhatsApp compresses images heavily. For clean printing we may ask for the original or a vector version. If that is unavailable, we can redraw the logo so it prints sharply at any size.

Why does my artwork look clear on my phone but blurry in print?

Phone screens make small images look sharper than they are. When enlarged for printing there is not enough image detail to reproduce cleanly. We flag obvious resolution problems before anything is printed.

Will printed colours match my screen exactly?

Not always. Screens mix light while printing mixes inks, and every screen is set differently. We match to CMYK values or Pantone references where supplied; if exact colour matters, tell us before production so we can proof it.

What commercial printing do you do?

Can you print custom sizes and finishes?

Yes. Most items can be produced in custom sizes, with finishes such as matte or gloss lamination, soft-touch, spot UV, foiling, folding, binding and rounded corners, depending on the product.

Will I see a proof before printing?

Yes. Every job gets a digital proof to approve before production. For critical brand colours or long runs, ask for a printed proof as well.

How long will my order take?

It depends on the product, quantity and finishing. UV DTF stickers are typically ready in 24–48 hours and many print jobs in a few working days. We confirm an estimated timeline with every quotation.

Do you offer same-day or urgent printing?

Sometimes, depending on the job and our production schedule. Urgent work may carry an extra charge and must be confirmed by us before it is accepted on that deadline.

When does production time start?

Once the artwork is approved and the required payment has been received, as stated on your quotation.
